    This position has the potential to work remotely, or in our offices in NJ or San Jose.  Do you have experience answering RFP/RFIs?  We’re seeking an exceptional writer with superior project management skills to join our team as a Proposal Writer, where you’ll oversee the simultaneous development of multiple RFP responses for our suite of products and services, working cross-functionally with our Sales and Legal teams to make an impact in our ability to win deals.  This is a high visibility and at times high pressure role, that is very rewarding in the end when you see that deal close.  The ideal candidate has experience in answer RFP/RFIs and is an effective writer, creative storyteller, and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.


    As a Proposal Writer, you’ll be responsible for understanding both prospect and client needs and managing the RFP response from start to finish.  This includes collaboration and project kick-offs with sales partners, authoring and editing content to finalizing and submitting responses. You’ll utilize core messaging, product positioning content and our existing answer bank to develop compelling answers to the questions outlined in each proposal, while ensuring all responses are accurate, timely and are in keeping with iCIMS company standards, brand and direction.     • Oversees the development of proposals and/or other documents describing iCIMS’ products and services in response to requests from prospective clients and/or current clients when up for renewal.
    • Ensure all RFP/Proposal responses are submitted on time by demonstrating a sense of urgency and initiative while at times working on tight deadlines.
    • Establish the relationship and engage 3rd parties for support around technical / legal / and other questions.
    • Answer all proposal questions while keeping with the company standards and maintaining that competitive edge with the goal of convincing the requestor to buy our product(s).
    • Utilizes core messaging, product positioning content, and the answer bank to help creatively develop and write impelling answers to the questions being asking in the proposal.
    • Collaborates with other departments, especially Marketing, Sales, Legal, Technology, and other experts to produce high quality, accurate responses.
    • Monthly reporting via SalesForce on stats and RFP win/losses.
    • Maintains RFP database that includes the FAQ / Technical / Legal / Product answers.
    • Maintains all RFP supporting documents that includes standard operating procedure documentation, proposal templates, cover letters, acceptance criteria documentation.
    • Continuously kaizens and improves proposal responses and aligns proposal messaging with corporate goals.
    • Develops and maintains a technical understanding of the software so that technical details can be clearly and strategically communicated when required.
    • Becomes an expert with iCIMS’ suite of products, features, and benefits and develop a deep understanding of market and industry trends as well as users’ and prospects’ needs.
    • Consistently ensures that business is conducted with integrity always and that behavior aligns with iCIMS policies, procedures, and core competencies.
    • Receives and acts on feedback for continual professional improvement and development.
    • Takes measures to enhance body of knowledge and skill set through training.


    • Minimum 5 years of experience creating technical documentation and/or answering RFP/RFI documents a must
    • Experience working with Salesforce a plus
    • Excellent organization and project management skills required
    • Solid writer, storyteller, editor and content strategist, who feels comfortable developing an idea into an impelling answer
    • Experience creating PowerPoint decks to support the proposal submission
    • Copy-editing skills that take existing copy from good to great
    • Ideal candidates are bright, outgoing, self-motivated, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, have excellent and efficient writing skills, and can easily switch gears to manage multiple projects and deadlines
    • Keen eye for editing and ensuring content is complete, accurate
    • Flexible and adaptable to a constant changing workload
