    Responsibilities:

    Strategy

    • Collaborate with the CTO to establish the vision and strategy to drive world class excellence within global engineering teams. Drive results that are specifically targeted to the customer base. Leads process and delivery outcomes with corporate planning and product development teams.
    • Lead the iCIMS Engineering team by providing vision, planning and prioritization for team resources and delegating and assigning projects, duties, and objectives through the organization
    • Offer visions and guidance to engineering product development and delivery process to consistently kaizen the maturity of iCIMS best practice

    Operations

    • Successfully defines and implements consistent engineering practices and architecures through multiple layers of the engineering organization to ensure effective on-time delivery to the product roadmap
    • Monitors engineering management practices to ensure consistency across teams and geographies
    • Maintain a deep understanding of the current state of systems, architectures, technology stacks, development methodologies, practices, and governance models, keeping them at a high standard of effectiveness as the business grows.
    • Integrate R&D organizations of acquired companies, ensuring a balance of governance and velocity to best maximize the acquired team’s ability to deliver
    • Influence team members to question the status quo and ensure that all aspects of the applicable processes are optimal for the business groups and product design.
    • Partner with VP Labs Operations, Chief Architect, and head of Product Management to ensure delivery of the highest value roadmap, utilizing the iCIMS’s best practices, and a unified visibility to risk, velocity, and the ability to make change.
    • Partner with Cloud Hosting to ensure aligned adoption of HADR global deployments and the highest volume capabilities across all portfolios
    • Foster collaboration between engineering, sales, operations, finance, and other departments to identify and harvest new engineering concepts, technologies, techniques, standards and procedures.

    Team Leadership

    • Manage all aspects of performance and development of direct reports and provide situational leadership to a high performing team to encourage engagement and professional growth 
    • Manage relationships with senior client contacts and other leadership to provide key leadership and oversight 
    • Ensure a fun, dynamic work environment & build merit-based culture which appeals to the top talent in the field 
    • Lead and coach the team, structuring appropriate training and development and eliminating roadblocks to team performance 
    • Partner with Talent team on the acquisition and retention of people resources to fulfill team mission successfully; own the selection process 
    • Consistently ensure that business is conducted with integrity at all times and that behavior aligns with iCIMS policies, procedures, and core competencies 
    • Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the department. 

    Metrics

    • Establish metrics for defining successful sprint planning and execution aligned with the roadmap delivery schedule
    • Ensure adequate oversight and investment in best practices
    • Hold leaders and teams accountable to deliver in line with key metrics and deliverables
    • Provide reporting and metrics to Executive leadership on the progress against set Engineering strategy and objectives

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related engineering field 
    • Minimum of 20 years of engineering experience in industrial / commercial products environment; 
    • Minimum of 15 years management experience in product or application development and engineering 
    • Extensive experience leading software development in a services-based environment implementing products in a SaaS and mobile environment  
    • Ability to attract, build and retain a highly engaged and capable world class engineering team that can deliver on technical and business strategies  
    • Proven ability to drive continuous improvements in organizational performance and efficiency, growth and career development for employees and innovation for customers   
    • Exceptional Project Management Skills; how to plan, set and manage to reasonable timelines, while delivering projects that align to the business strategy  
    • Proven experience in scalable web application development, cross-platform integrations, API and restful web services design and development; Management and/or development of mobile and responsive applications is a plus  
    • Experience with delivering scalable, secure integration solutions using Kafka, MuleSoft, or other integration middleware is a plus  
    • Knowledge of some or all of the tools & technologies currently in use is a plus: Java, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Apache Tomcat, Linux, Eclipse, Selenium 2.0 & Web Driver, Subversion, etc.  
    • 15 years of related experience with a similar scope & responsibility with a track record of success in a highly metrics-driven organization  
    • Strong customer commitment and demonstrated experience establishing a “Customer Experience” culture in support of all the business functions of a fast-paced company;  
    • Ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior leaders where appropriate;  
    • Experience guiding high performing teams with demonstrated ability to evaluate and develop talent  
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal), with the proven ability to effectively translate complex ideas and tailor key messages to multiple audiences.  
    • Ability to drive and manage systems/process change agenda as required.  
    • Experience working within a SaaS environment preferred  
    • Strong results orientation with a proven track record of flawless execution and strong attention to detail
