    Are you an experienced database administrator who’s supported a production SQL Server environment? Do you have a strong knowledge of high availability technologies and RDBMS? We’re seeking a skilled problem-solver and independent self-starter to join our team as a Database (DB) Administrator III, where you’ll take on projects driven by direct customer requests, developing SQL queries and working directly with the database server. In this role, you’ll conduct proactive analysis of our data to ensure our databases are running optimally, performing corrective action of poor running SQL statements. You’ll troubleshoot the application, systems, and business process as related to the database, and work with our Development team to identify and resolve issues. We’re looking for someone who’s open and willing to learn new technologies around data—someone who has a strong base of functional knowledge that can also help us engineer to the new.     Responsibilities


    • Advanced troubleshooting of application, systems and business processes as related to the database

    • Perform analysis/corrective action of poor running SQL statements 

    • Engineer hardware solutions in Amazon AWS for database infrastructure needs 

    • Ensure database environment is secure

    • Create robust DR/Backup/Restore plans that reinforces current business RPO and RTO 

    • Create processes that are used for daily operation of database environment 

    • Ability to cover rotating off-hour/weekend support requirements 

    • Leads and participates in the patch, upgrades and product release efforts and on-call rotation support. Analyze issues logically and methodically with a strong attention to detail. 

    • Work with Development team to identify and resolve issues within applications to ensure successful release of products and updates.

    • Act as a mentor to DBA I and II

    • Consistently ensure that business is conducted with integrity at all times and that behavior aligns with iCIMS policies, procedures, and core competencies

    Qualifications


    • Minimum of 5 years of database administration experience supporting a production SQL Server environment including a strong knowledge of high availability technologies.

    • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting AlwaysOn Availability Groups and Windows Failover Clustering

    • Strong knowledge of RDBMS concepts, specifically Microsoft SQL Server.

    • Able to automate routine processes using scripting, PowerShell, TSQL, etc.

    • Experience with Amazon AWS, specifically MSSQL running on EC2 and RDS.

    • Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL and Aurora a plus.

    • Full life-cycle database experience including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance

    • Ability to proactively recommend infrastructure upgrades based on trending analysis for future growth

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Articulates thoughts and ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively

    • Ability to work effectively within a fast paced, changing environment that is going through high growth

    • A self-starter with the demonstrated ability to take initiative, who can proactively identify issues/opportunities and recommend actions

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer related field or 7+ years working with MS SQL Server
