We’re looking for a self-motivated critical thinker with a technology/SaaS background to join our team as a Competitive Intelligence (CI) Analyst II, where you’ll own competitive intelligence data collection and presentation regarding features, functions and services, as well as perform win/loss and competitive pricing analysis. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing vendor relationships and competitive profiles, providing regular updates on the competitive landscape. You’ll be accountable for the collection, synthesis, distribution and usability of competitive and market trend intelligence, and will help drive pricing, product sales and marketing decisions by providing critical information and strategic insights.     Responsibilities

    • Gather, analyze, synthesize and communicate information, trends and news about iCIMS competitors including product offerings, go-to-market strategies, sales tactics, pricing, etc.
    • Conduct primary research and benchmark our products vs the competition to distill actionable intelligence that informs development decisions and initiatives.
    • Conduct ad hoc analysis of emerging developments in our competitive landscape and share findings with sales and marketing leaders as needed.
    • Work closely with Decision Support team to ensure appropriate reports are in place and are frequently evaluated for relevance and effectiveness.
    • Conduct win/loss analysis by combining internal data with external survey data conducted by a 3rd party research firm to determine key reasons why we win or lose. Make recommendations based on win/loss analysis.
    • Manage competitive profiles, battle cards, and feature comparisons in our CI portal and enable the creation of effective competitor positioning documents.
    • Provide support, guidance, and training to the direct sales teams, including recommended sales plays, messages, and tactics based on knowledge of competitor activities and impact
    • Support marketing, sales enablement, and overlays with competitive content and sales play recommendations.
    • Create and maintain competitive sales enablement materials and deliver live enablement sessions to sales colleagues.
    • Respond with urgency and quality to deal-related requests/inquiries from sales colleagues
    • Monitor and analyze the recruiting and HCM markets including competitor activity, product announcements, messaging/positioning, partnerships, and customer announcements.
    • Prepare presentations, summary reports and participate in briefings, meetings, tactical or planning with other functional areas and/or executive management.
    • Manage relationships with key vendors that support our CI and Win/Loss programs.
    • Work within a predefined network of information sources, including internal teams, distributors, partners, customers, and industry experts.
    • Develop and maintain advanced knowledge of direct competitors, while displaying comprehensive industry knowledge as well as advanced product knowledge.
    • Consistently ensure that business is conducted with integrity at-all-times and that behavior aligns with iCIMS policies, procedures, and core competencies.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent working experience
    • A minimum of 4 years in a research/pricing analyst capacity
    • At least 5 years of experience in a Competitive Intelligence, Marketing, or similar role
    • At least 4 years of experience effectively interacting with sales and operations
    • Demonstrated business acumen and a good understanding of the SaaS business model and sales/buying process 
    • Experience with Salesforce.com a plus
    • Solid understanding of SaaS technology and the ability to discern functional differentiators of key competitors preferred
    • Capable of identifying actionable, relevant business insights from analytics and packaging them into compelling stories
    • Strong business acumen with the ability to leverage experience and research to be credible across a wide range of vertical markets
    • Must be a driven and self-motivated individual—a strategic thinker who will bring a structured approach to analysis
    • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures for collecting market information
    • Passion for understanding what makes a technology compelling
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to influence at all levels within an organization.
